About The Nurture Place

Imagine a community where every individual is seen, heard, loved, & in turn becomes a resilient, thriving member of society. Imagine every child & family experiencing healing from adversity & trauma. Imagine those experiencing medical trauma, divorce or poverty knowing they are not alone. ALL families & individuals deserve high quality resources & support.  The Nurture Place is an innovative mental wellness movement with a mission to bring accessibility of trauma-informed resources to every family.  As a non-profit 501c3, we prioritize affordability by offering scholarships & low-cost services to children, individuals and families.

About The Event

Understanding Behavior Through the Lens of Adversity Conference
Participants  will learn how to identify trauma and its effects, how to disarm fear, optimize learning, and ultimately facilitate healing for those who have experienced adversity.  This conference is adapted and developed by The Nurture Place and created specifically for individuals desiring to further their knowledge of trauma and learn practical tools to build true connection.  Topics covered during this training are adapted from evidence-based curricula in collaboration with trained professionals, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Mental Health Counselors, and a TBRI Practitioner.

        • Child Development & Adverse Childhood Experiences
        • Strengthening Relationships through Empowerment
        • The Power of Connection (Relationships that Matter)
        • Correcting Behavior with our Interactions
        • Self-Care, and Other Resources

Where is the event being held?

Healthy West Orange | 1200 East Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL  34787

When does the event start?

Registration opens at 9 am | Coffee will be served
Conference starts sharply at 9:30 am.

Where is the parking lot located?

There is plenty of parking available at the Healthy West Orange building.

Will we be sitting at a table?

All participants will be seated at round tables sitting 6 people.

What should I expect?

Guests can expect a day of learning about trauma, connection, and the brain with engaging activities and knowledgeable facilitators.

What is the dress code?

We encourage participants to wear comfortable attire and shoes, bring a sweater if you easily get cold in conference rooms. 

Will lunch be covered?

Coffee, snacks, and a Chick-Fil-A boxed lunch will be provided the day of the conference.
