Nurture Programs
Our Nurture Programs help kids build social-emotional and healthy coping skills to help with difficult feelings such as anxiety and stress. The programs are adapted and developed by The Nurture Place team to address our community's growing need for mental health support and to support our community's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students participate in direct and developmentally-appropriate education, practice and reinforcement to grow their skills in key social-emotional domains that support healthy development, relationships, and academic success. Weekly groups address thoughts, behaviors and emotions and build resilience and confidence to cope with anxiety and stress in healthy ways.
Nurture Programs are adapted from evidence-based curricula and are supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

"...the group environment felt very comfortable for [our child] and the tools and conversations that happened during the weekly sessions he called his "Calm Club" were a great fit for his needs to develop skills and learn about tools to deal with the typical day to day stressors of being a high performing student, and almost tween, during today’s strange social and scholastic times. He brought these learnings and tools home to our family, mostly during dinner conversation, every Wednesday night, demonstrating calming exercises, and communication tools that helped us all as a family navigate stress, emotions and crucial conversations as a family."
- Parents of a 3rd grader
"Our child really enjoyed it and learned some new confidence and tools!" - Mom of a 3rd grader
"We wanted to thank you for extending the group therapy at our child's school. We value the letters and resources that you all have sent home. Our child has enjoyed the sessions and I’ve gained insights for my toolkit as well." - Mom of a 4th grader
