The Talaris Institute was founded in 2000, with the mission of supporting parents and caregivers in raising socially and emotionally healthy children. Their goal is for parents and caregivers to understand that: learning begins at birth, the foundation for lifelong learning and relationships rests on the social and emotional development from birth to five, and the parent-child relationship is the most essential factor in a child’s healthy development.
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has a mission to raise the standard of care and improve access to services for traumatized children, their families and communities throughout the United States.
The mission of the Center on the Developing Child is to leverage the power of science in pursuit of better, more equitable outcomes for young children facing adversity. They do this through a unique approach to multidisciplinary science synthesis, strategic communications, and collaborative learning engagements to increase understanding and change the narrative around the importance of supporting healthy development during pregnancy and the earliest years. Their goal is to catalyze changes in policies, services, and funding that help ensure all children can thrive, along with their caregivers, in developmental environments that support their health and well-being.
The Georgetown University Center for Children and Families (CCF) is a nonpartisan policy and research center founded in 2005 with a mission to support access to high-quality, comprehensive and affordable health coverage for all of America’s children and families.
The ChildTrauma Academy set out to help improve the lives of traumatized and maltreated children — by improving the systems that educate, nurture, protect and enrich these children. They focused our efforts on education, program consultation, research and disseminating innovations in the field.
